Josh works for our clients on a wide variety of environmental matters, including real estate transactions for contaminated property, Superfund cleanup and cost recovery, complex regulatory compliance questions arising under RCRA, and water quality permitting for major municipal and industrial facilities. Josh co-authored the "Brownfields Redevelopment" chapter of the 2002 and 2005 editions of the Association of Washington Business Environmental Compliance Handbook and has delivered speeches to attorney and private client groups concerning liability protection in contaminated property transactions. Josh was elected to the Executive Committee of the Washington State Bar Association Environmental and Land Use Section for the 2004-2007 term. He was named a 2004 and 2005 Rising Star by the readers of Washington Law & Politics magazine and has earned an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell.
Josh served as trustee for the King County Bar Association Young Lawyers Division, and is a member of the Loren Miller Bar Association. He currently serves as the chair of the Board of Directors for the Seward Park Audubon Environmental Education Center and is a member of the Board at YouthCare, an organization that serves at-risk youth through a variety of residential and educational outreach programs.
Josh and his wife Laura enjoy traveling with their daughters Mikaela and Aliyah. Josh is also a basketball player, backpacker, and cyclist.
Josh received his B.A. from Williams College. He received his J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he served on the The Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics and was a member of the Family Poverty Clinic, representing clients in special education and public benefits cases.
