Tom McDonald has spent many years representing farmers, industries, municipalities and utilities in matters involving water resource management, water rights and water quality, and the Endangered Species Act. He also represents clients in tribal water law, shoreline law and other areas of natural resource law. Tom was managing partner of Perkins Coie’s Olympia office for several years. Before that, Tom was Section Chief as Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Ecology. He also worked in the Federal and Interstate Water Unit of the Colorado State Attorney General’s office, and he was Staff Counsel and Coordinator to the Washington State Senate Agricultural Committee and Joint Select Committee on Water Resource Policy. He graduated with high distinction with an Agricultural Economics degree from Colorado State University, and received his J.D. from University of Puget Sound (now Seattle University) School of Law.
