Steve represents clients in complex environmental litigation and regulatory matters, including cleanup and cost recovery actions under state and federal superfund law, contaminated property transactions, natural resource damages claims, stormwater and wetlands issues, and clean water act compliance.
Steve brings over three decades of experience in both litigation and alternative dispute resolution. He has served as Chair of the ABA Committee on Superfund and Natural Resource Damages Litigation, and as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Association of General Contractors of Washington. He is the founder of Parkinson ADR, a mediation and dispute resolution practice focused on environmental and commercial matters.
He is regularly recognized by Super Lawyers and The Best Lawyers in America, and was named to Washington CEO Magazine’s “League of Justice” as one of Washington’s Most Amazing Attorneys.
Professional Experience
Represent clients in CERCLA and MTCA cost recovery and contribution actions, including multi-party Superfund matters.
Defend clients in class actions involving alleged contamination or hazardous conditions.
Advise clients in real estate transactions involving contaminated properties, including allocation of cleanup obligations and liability risk mitigation.
Represent clients in natural resource damages claims, including strategy development for liability allocation and restoration efforts.
Advise clients on Clean Water Act and wetlands permitting and compliance issues.
Provide mediation and neutral evaluation services.
